I thought I would create a topic on my first balsa wood car ever.
It is for the Goodwood proxy and I am hoping to do half as good as the other entrants,
if I do I will be satisfied.
Stage 1..
Combining pieces of balsa to make a hollow base.
Stage 2..
Gluing them all together to make the basis
Stage 3..
Shaping the rough form with my trusted companion Mr Stanley.
I have no drawings so I am using my eyes for this.
Some more progress photo's.
During painting, the color will be British racing green and numbered 77 ofcourse.
A view of the nearly completed modified rear.
Driver Jan during surgery...he will be missing some bits when competing with the other racers 
Modified chassis to attach it to the body mounting posts, just need to drill the holes in it.

Here are some pictures of my Rustoleum paint debacle..
Previous paint cured for 3 days instead of the 24 hrs it says it needs....and was still soft resulting in me repainting it again and finding out it will probably never cure properly
Going to have to take all the paint off and repaint it ...this time with Tamiya paint.
Here it shows the dirt that got stuck to it after it fell from the stand in my paint booth after 1 hour drying.
It was a hard lesson...will never touch Rustoleum paint again..
Removed the paint...
Tamiya paint it will be

I can confirm the 1K primer/filler and Tamiya work well together.
I did another 2 coats of the primer and then 3 coats of Tamiya TS-43 will wett sand it once more and add some extra layers tomorrow when the body mount pillar goo is dried.
The dust in the picture is because I did the pillars after the paint dried and then took pictures.
Paint booth with bathroom fan to take away the fumes and mist and 3 lights to give proper lightning.
Bottom view chassis mated with the body with semi finished body mount posts.
Holes drilled and flushed
Front holes drilled with the Bigger hole to accept the screws head.
Sanded again...
Hit some wood. 
Did another 3 layers of primer/filler then sanded some more and then the final 3 coats of paint and did a little detailing.

After two more repaints I got close to satisfaction so gave it two proper coats of clear and did the detailing.
One other mishap set me back a little.. my sweet son fed the grill to our loving dog but got that sorted

C'est gentil de me mettre le lien 
. Mais comme je le dis plus haut. Je ne suis pas très courageux
Pourtant il va m'en falloir. Je viens de recevoir un contrôleur "Difalco" 
. Je vais donc devoir traduire la notice
