Hello Guys. Phew! After a few torrid months of nothing but problems, I would like to report that I am back with a vengeance! The latest project has been in the pipeline since May and has taken a while to perfect. I think the photograph posted sometime ago by Scalexsite, showed the car under development. Well I am pleased to announce that it is now finished and looking fabulous. Aston Martin DP214 (and 215) were the last official factory entered cars the run at Le Mans in 1963. Neither of them finished, but they did become the fastest ever front engined cars to run at La Sarthe. DP 214 was the first car to reach 300kph on the Mulsanne and as the timing marks at the end of the straight were never placed in the correct position, the Aston Martin officials maintain that it could have touched 200mph before braking.
I am in the process of building up two of these models to represent the two cars that ran in 1963. Chassis numbers DB4GT0194/R and DB4GT0195/R were driven by Bruce Mclaren and Innes Ireland in no. 8, with no.7 being driven by Bill Kimberley and Jo Schlesser. The colour is Californian Sage which is correct and finished none gloss. Everything you see in the photographs has been made by me. The mould, the casting, the artwork for the photo etching and the vacuum forming. The decals have been made specifically to my design witht he roundels being the right diameter and the numerals being the right size and as far as we can assertain, the correct font. I hope you enjoy the pictures and once again, kits are available.
Regards, Graham.
